- Slower speed
This might seem like a con for quick commuting, but is also a benefit since
it is safer to go at a reasonable speed, usually from
walking to all-out sprinting.
- Hills are harder to climb
This may be true, but most moderate hills are much easier to kick bike
on then walk, so there are very few times when walking would be a better
alternative. Also it's a great workout to kick a hill.
- Fewer places to put racks
It is easy to put a standard front rack on the bike, but also because of
the standing position it is much easier to carry a regular bag or backpack.
